How Traffic School Works in Riverside County
Riverside drivers have two separate transactions to manage: the court authorizes traffic school and collects its fee; Freeway provides the online course. Use this sequence to keep the case, region code, and deadline together.
Complete the Riverside court steps first
1. Find the case and verify permission
Use the citation number in Riverside ePay-it, or call the traffic clerk at (951) 777-3147. The court—not the school—decides whether the violation may use Traffic Violator School.
2. Pay the court, not the course
Pay the fine or bail plus Riverside's traffic-school administrative fee directly to the court. That payment does not buy the Freeway course. Our promotional course price is $39, due only when you pass; the regular price is $49.
3. Keep the correct region code
33460 — Western Region: Banning, Corona, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, and the other western branches.
33450 — Desert Region: Blythe and Larson Justice Center in Indio.
4. Record the exact due date
Riverside generally sets completion 60 days from the appearance date and offers one 60-day extension. Check the date shown for your own case rather than calculating it from this page. Longer requests require written review by the court.

Enroll with no course payment due today
Use the name and case details that match your Riverside record. If enrollment asks for a court code, use 33460 for Western Region or 33450 for Desert Region.
Complete the lessons by your court deadline
The course works on phone, tablet, or computer and saves your progress between sessions. Do not confuse the court's deadline with the promotion end date.
Pay $39 when you pass
The $39 promotional course price applies through October 29, 2026 and is separate from every amount paid to Riverside Superior Court.
Allow time for the court record to update
Freeway reports a completed California course electronically. Save your completion information and check the court's case system before the due date if you need confirmation that the record was received.
The 18-month rule uses violation dates
California generally allows one eligible conviction to be kept confidential through traffic school in an 18-month period. Measure from the prior violation date to the current violation date—not from the date you enrolled in, attended, or completed the earlier course. Riverside Superior Court makes the final eligibility decision for the case.
If the current violation falls inside that window, or the citation requires a mandatory appearance, do not assume enrollment changes the court's decision. Confirm through ePay-it or the traffic clerk before paying any court or course amount.
